Stay active while enjoying the great outdoors! Our Outdoor Fitness Area offers guests a convenient way to fit in a workout during their stay. Whether you’re starting your morning with some movement or squeezing in a quick workout between adventures, our outdoor equipment provides a fun and refreshing way to stay energized while surrounded by the beauty of the Mount Washington Valley.
Cool off with a sweet treat at our on-site ice cream shop. Choose from classic flavors or build your own creation by picking your mix-ins and watching them folded together on a cold stone. It’s a fun, made-to-order experience the whole family will love.
Two self-service laundry facilities with change machines and detergent dispensers are located within the park and are open 24 hours a day.
With two playgrounds, kids of all ages are guaranteed a fun time. Our main playground which was recently updated is located nearest the lower bathhouse (closest to the river) . Our 2nd playground is located near our upper bathhouse.
Since Saco River Family Camping is such a big place to visit (nearly 50 acres !), the best way to learn everything begins at our store. Here our Guest Service Specialists will assist you with your site arrangements, help plan your itinerary, arrange for future reservations, and help to provide you with everything you need to have the best vacation possible.
Have fun in our old miners’ sluicing station. Learn about many locally found gems and minerals while enjoying a great time with your family doing some old-time mining.

Three full-service restroom facilities complete with hot showers ($0.25 for 5 minutes, this small fee helps conserve many thousands of gallons of water annually) and toilets are conveniently located throughout the park and are open 24 hours. Change machines are in the laundry areas in our upper bathhouse and pool house. An additional restroom facility with a toilet and sink is located behind the store (seasonally).
Open seasonally from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Whether you’re wading, lap-swimming, or spending a lazy day in the sun, as long as you bring a towel and sunscreen our heated pool makes for a great place to have fun. Remember, our pool is NOT staffed by lifeguards-swimming is at your own risk.
