If you’re looking for an inexpensive way to spend the summer, camping is an activity that should top your list. In addition to being one of the most affordable outdoor activities available, it provides plenty of flexibility and adventure for all ages of thrill seekers. If you’ve never been camping or haven’t been able to camp in years, you’re in for a real treat.
Here are five camping experiences every person should have at least once:
1. Eat an authentic s’more.
You haven’t experienced the perfect trio of graham cracker, milk chocolate, and marshmallow until you’ve eaten one made over a campfire. Enjoy the indulgent treat and the perfect char you get on the marshmallow as you roast it over the fire.
2. Sing or tell stories around a campfire.
After you’ve finished your dessert, use the time to reminisce, play the guitar or tell spooky stories. You’ll have a lot of fun doing so.
3. Stargaze into a clear night sky.
You don’t need to be an expert in astronomy to be able to identify a few of the most visible constellations. Look for them while outdoors. You never know, you may even see shooting stars!
4. Completely detox from technology.
Make it a point to reconnect with nature. Only use your phone for emergency calls. Don’t use it to update social media, read the news or play video games. Regular breaks from technology help inspire creativity because you have plenty of time to think.
5. Go on a nature scavenger hunt.
Create lists of objects to find. Break off into teams of two or three people. Take photographs of the items found on the list. Award prizes to the winners.
Soak up every exciting minute you spend camping. It’s an adventure like no other! If you have the five camping experiences listed here and want to add more to your bucket list, by all means, do so! Our campsite is open and ready to
