Play card or board games inside the tent.
There are many games that come in travel sizes that are perfect for camping. Start collecting some of your favorites and bring them with you on your trip. You can also come up with your own. That way, if it does rain, you’ll have something fun to do until the sun comes back out.
Do a craft activity rather than one that requires a lot of physical stamina.
If your little one doesn’t feel up to running or playing laser tag, opt to do a fun craft activity instead. Pack along a glue stick, a pair of safety scissors, a magazine, and a notebook so they can make their own travel journal. It’s a fun way to spend an afternoon.
Focus on deepening the connection with your family by telling stories.
Take turns telling stories or asking questions and inviting answers. That way, everyone feels like they’ve had a chance to speak. Focus on being good listeners as well as speakers. It will strengthen the bond you have with your spouse and children.
